2022 – 4th Annual Noah Jeffries Memorial Clays Event

Saturday, October 15th, 2022 we will host the 4th annual Noah Jeffries Memorial Clays Event at Tenoroc Range in Lakeland, FL. Registration and check-in begin at 8:30am. The 50-clay fundraiser with raffle and auction will benefit scholarships and support to first responders in Polk County.

We do something a little different. Our event is free to enter. Yes, you read that correctly. Free. We did this for two reasons:

1 – We prefer to allow people to give what is comfortable for them, for their household and budget. By doing this we have far more participants come out to join us and become part of foundation’s family.

2 – Noah was competitive in sporting clays, starting at the age of 13. His first event was a local area event for a church’s outdoor sporting group. After the first event, he was hooked. It became his passion wanting to compete every weekend. Along with it came the costs involved with the sport and entry fees. Noah felt badly about the costs incurred and did everything he could do work odd-jobs and come up with creative ways to earn money to compete and practice. The first year he qualified for state competition he grew and sold corn to local grocery stores and fresh produce stands to pay the entry fee.

This sport teaches focus, reasoning, the ability to make fast decisions wisely, patience, tolerance, sportsmanship and a sense of community. It is also thick with people who have a philanthropic and altruistic attitude. They are kind, strong, intelligent and big-hearted. The sport is also diverse in culture, age and gender. The youth compete alongside seniors. They talk. They have to communicate with each other. Other than skill-level it is an equalizer of sorts and for the most part, those with master skill-level are helpful and supportive of newbies and mid-level competitors.

Noah's Army Fundraising Events

This sport is an extraordinary place in which to have your child spend a great deal of their time. It gives them a perspective of the world to carry with them for their lifetime that is incredibly difficult to replicate with any other sport, event or hobby.

By allowing our event to be free to enter – we give parents and their children a place to participate in something together that not only encourages a new interest or sport, but also to contribute to a good cause that benefits the community we share. To be honest – we had no idea that by making the event free to enter at our 2nd event in 2019, that we would be creating a family-day for many. That day we had more families show up to participate than we had ever witnessed on a sporting clays course in our past experience. It was incredible and we were very honored.

This year’s event includes our raffle and auction, a DJ, lunch is catered by Drunkin’ Bros BBQ. In addition to the standard 50-clay course we will also have a long-bird stand separate from the course and part of the fundraiser.

Something we’re very proud of on our raffle table are the community baskets. We provide two, stuffed with local area business gift certificates and products. It gives local businesses the ability to participate in our event without the sponsor-level costs and supports first responders in the county where they live and conduct their business. We accept contributions to these baskets until 8pm the Friday before our event. Any business that would like to offer gift certificates/cards, products or services can fill out this form and we will arrange pick up: Local Area Business Contributions
